A home away from home
We understand what a big step it is to study so far away in a new place. At St Mary's College we provide an environment that is a 'home away from home' where every student feels special. At St Mary's College our international students never have to feel alone.
|
Academic excellence
We strive for academic excellence and our students perform highly in the NCEA and scholarship exams. Our international students have an exemplary record of achievement too. Last year 91% of our year thirteen international students graduated with Level 3 NCEA and university entrance literacy. It's no wonder that St Mary's College was rated as one of the top ten girls' secondary schools in Auckland by Metro Magazine August 2006.

Recent additions to the facilities have ensured that our students are provided with an extensive range of facilities including; computer suites, a gymnasium, well-equipped Science laboratories, a swimming pool, music suites, a music perfomance hall, tennis, netball and basketball courts as well as a new state-of-the-art library and technology block.

Cultural Richness
St Mary's College is recognised for musical excellence in New Zealand and abroad. St Mary's College continues to provide superior music tuition which, over the years, has helped many acclaimed musicians realise their talents.
Music is an important part of school life and music instruction is compulsory in Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9. There are many exciting musical opportunities for students at all levels to choose from, such as orchestras, symphonic wind bands, and choral singing groups. This year our Senior Concert Band is travelling to Florida, USA, to perform in 2007 and the Senior Orchestra will perform at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.
Because we value cultural diversity and richness, the school attracts students from many different cultures. At St Mary's College our internationals form strong and lasting relationships with students from many different cultures and backgrounds. We celebrate cultural richess at many special events such as Mercy Day and International Day.
