Year 13 Drama Production: Fresh off the Boat

Feel like having a bit of a laugh?
Come along and watch a dedicated group of Year 13 students perform ‘Fresh off the Boat’.
The rehearsal process has been an exciting journey. The girls were lucky enough to interview one of the playwrights and an original actor from the first performance, Oscar Kightley. Now they are ready to perform their hearts out!
The Play is about a Samoan mother and her two daughters living their lives in New Zealand. When Uncle Charles arrives, fresh off the boat from Samoa, he has difficulty fitting in and tries to come between his sister and her relationship with a Palagi family friend. Will he succeed? What will happen when he finds out the truth?
The play is on the 12th and 13th August with two different casts, performing at 4pm and 6pm. It takes place in the Stella Maris Hall, 11 New Street, Ponsonby. Tickets are available from the office. They are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.
