Te Reo Māori

St Mary’s College is a Catholic, Year 7-13 College with a strong tradition of successfully preparing young women to make a difference through academic success, holistic education and the building of strong values. We are a forward- thinking school with a strong use of technology, excellent facilities, and supportive collegial staff.

We are seeking a teacher of te reo Māori to work with ākonga. We are looking for an innovative, reflective, creative and energetic practitioner to join our Te Reo Māori program which sits within our supportive and well-established languages faculty. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and the principles of effective language teaching and learning, along with a deep understanding of te reo Māori and tikanga.

The teacher should have a passion for supporting all ākonga to learn te reo Māori. The ability to teach students from beginners through to NCEA Level 3 is desirable. There will be opportunities to teach across other learning areas such as Sciences, Social Sciences and more. Please state other teaching subjects in your application.

Please note that the terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the relevant collective agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
