Congratulations to Lucie Kendall and Juliette Hauter in Year 13 (right) who have been selected as part of a group of 12 students from throughout New Zealand to travel to Vietnam in the upcoming April holidays.
Both students had to submit a 90 second video to Young Enterprise explaining why they should be chosen and what they would gain if given this opportunity. This fully funded trip gives them the opportunity to learn about the culture and business community in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and will include site visits to established companies and start-ups, meeting local entrepreneurs, as well as those involved in some of our trade relationships. The students will also partner with local students to complete a business challenge. This is an opportunity for students to understand the local business culture and trade environment, and spend time with like-minded peers. The Young Enterprise Foundation has partnered with Southeast Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence to offer this amazing opportunity, and our thanks go to those who provide these opportunities to our Senior Business students. We wish Lucie and Juliette all the best for their journey, and we eagerly anticipate the learning they will share on their return.
Congratulations to Samantha Stock (left), our Senior Sports Woman of the Year. Sam has also been named as a finalist in the Young Sports Person of the Year (YSPOTY) awards. YSPOTY recognises top athletes from Auckland Secondary Schools. Sam is a finalist in the Yachting category after finishing first in the Auckland Secondary Schools competition and second in the Laser Radial at the NZ Nationals. She has attended the Youth World Sailing Champs in Texas as well as the Laser Radial Youth Worlds in Germany with outstanding results. Congratulations Sam and good luck.
