Congratulations to Riana Matiseni, Jazzmyne Kailahi-Fulu, Zaaliyah Kailahi-Fulu, Leata Te Nana-Williams and Safenunuivao Te Nana-Willliams (right) who were all selected for the Steven Adams Camp over the holidays. The camp involved an intensive few days of training, followed up by a televised game in Christchurch during the NBL Final 4 series for 24 of the top girls and boys in the country.
Our Premier Basketball girls will be attending the NZ Schick Basketball National Championships in Palmerston North in October, we wish them all the best!
Congratulations to Juliette Hauter and Lucie Kendall in Year 13 (left) who were selected as part of a group of 12 students from throughout New Zealand to travel to Vietnam in the April holidays.
Both students had to submit a 90 second video to Young Enterprise explaining why they should be chosen and what they would gain if given the opportunity. This fully funded trip gave them the opportunity to learn about the culture and business community in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and included site visits to established companies and start-ups, as well as those involved in some of our trade relationships. The girls partnered with local students to complete a business challenge. This was an opportunity for students to understand the local business culture and trade environment, and spend time with like-minded peers. The Young Enterprise Foundation partnered with Southeast Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence to offer this amazing opportunity, and our thanks go to those who provide these opportunities to our Senior Business students.
Congratulations to Samantha Stock (right), our Senior Sports Woman of the Year. Sam has also been named as a finalist in the Young Sports Person of the Year (YSPOTY) awards. YSPOTY recognises top athletes from Auckland Secondary Schools. Sam is a finalist in the Yachting category after finishing first in the Auckland Secondary Schools competition and second in the Laser Radial at the NZ Nationals. She has attended the Youth World Sailing Champs in Texas as well as the Laser Radial Youth Worlds in Germany with outstanding results. Congratulations Sam and good luck.
